The San Diego Padres continue to search for an established outfielder, according to a report.

With the regular season less than a month away, Tommy Pham remains a possibility.

San Diego only has three outfielders on the 40-man roster: Fernando Tatis, Jr., Jose Azocar and Jurickson Profar.

The New York Yankees prefer to trade for Dylan Cease rather than sign Blake Snell as the regular season approaches, according to a report.

However, the Yankees are unwilling to deal prospect Spencer Jones, who the Chicago White Sox are said to be "insisting" on.

Jones, 22, a former first-round pick, split last season between High- and Double-A, hitting .267/.336/.444 with 16 home runs and 43 stolen bases in 117 games.

Dylan Cease reported to camp with the Chicago White Sox this week with the intention of starting the season with the club.

Cease was mentioned in trade rumors throughout the offseason.

"It seemed like I was going to get traded, but here we are," the pitcher said. "That's why I try not to get too caught up in it until something happens. I wasn't overly concerned or paranoid about anything. I was focusing on getting my body ready. Wherever I was going to be sent to was second to that."

The Minnesota Twins haven't gained any traction on a Christian Vazquez trade, according to a report.

Vazquez lost the starting job to Ryan Jeffers last season and the catcher is owed $20 million over 2024-25. 

Shedding Vazquez's salary would allow the Twins to allocate money elsewhere on the roster.

The Boston Red Sox are talking to a number of clubs about a trade involving Kenley Jansen, according to a report.

Jansen posted a 3.63 ERA, 52 strikeouts and 29 saves for the Red Sox in 2023 over 44 2/3 innings.

The report also states that the Red Sox could unload Jarred Duran before Opening Day as well.

Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase continues to be a popular target on the trade market, according to a report.

A trade appears unlikely to occur soon as Clase is under team control through the 2028 season. His contract also won't pay him more than $5 million annually until 2026.

Clase, 25, is a two-time All-Star with a career 2.00 ERA and a 4.92 strikeout-to-walk ratio and 111 saves.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have "looked into" trades for a number of high-profile starting pitchers this offseason, according to a report.

Specifically, the Dodgers have looked into deals for Corbin Burnes, Dylan Cease, Shane Bieber, and Jesus Luzardo.

Burnes has since been dealt to the Baltimore Orioles.

A number of clubs have inquired with the Toronto Blue Jays about Alek Manoah this offseason, according to a report.

The Blue Jays have told teams they have no plans to move the right-hander. He's believed to be penciled in as the team's No. 5 starter for the 2024 season.

Manoah had a rough 2023 season after finishing third in the American League Cy Young voting the year prior.
